The utilization of Mine Detection Dogs is a recognized and established method of supporting Mine Clearance operations. MDDs themselves are not a complete solution; rather, they are a key component of an integrated tool box which typically includes:

• Mine Detection Dogs Mechanical Devices - items such as flailing machines or ground preparation tools
• Electronic Devices - mine detectors De-miners.
